Baby Announcement!

Our baby has arrived! And he (yes HE!) came on his own time, I did not need to have an induction - yoohoo! The contractions started Sunday morning though I wasn't convinced they meant anything because of how the last two weeks have gone. Sunday afternoon we had friends for dinner and by good fortune it was the friends that were taking Gabe and Zion for us so they took them with after dinner and we headed to the hospital with much stronger contractions. We got there a little before 10PM on Sunday and at 2:06AM on Monday the 28th Gideon William was born! He weighed in at 10lb 7oz and 21 3/4 inches long!



He swallowed quite a bit of fluid during the birth process and I had trouble with bleeding for a day so we stayed in the hospital for an extra day. We got to come home yesterday afternoon and are doing well. I have a bit of recovery ahead because of blood loss which is making me very tired and light headed but otherwise we are both great. Gideon is a fantastic nurser which is a huge answer to prayer.





Gabriel and Zion love him. Gabe's first concern was whether or not the baby would get into his things but once I reassured him that the baby couldn't move at all on his own yet he put it out of his mind and now he gives lots of kisses and hugs. Zion was smitten from the get go. She loves to caress Gideon's head and touch his nose and his ears. Every time she walks back into the room where he is she says "Aww, baby!" and loves on him all over again.
